Cast Iron Caille Victory with unique 2-piece rear door

Postby CoinOpNut » Sat Aug 20, 2016 3:26 pm

Hi All -
Thought I'd share some photos of a nice specimen: a cast iron Caille Victory with gum vendors.
Nice unrestored original machine with the decals and pin-stripes intact -- along with the vending mech and the deferred pay mech!

What's particularly neat is the back door: it has a small lower door that - upon opening - reveals the "peek-a-boo" window that shows the counter on the mech - -and access to the cashbox.
(That lower door is stamped CAILLE BROS inside)

The main door is oak - and has the serial number stamped into it (SN matches the number stamped into the cabinet - as well as the SN stamped on the mech).

Thanks guys.

This was in a collection for the past 25+ years.
I was told that it came out of a private club in Montana - but no details beyond that.

Wow! This is one "Fantastic Find" for sure. Congrats! Don't do a thing to it. Just enjoy. Also, as nice as the original
fruit symbol award cards look in this model, I would also not change the existing card. I don't remember seeing
this card before, and besides, it does say 'Manufactured by Caille Brothers, etc.' on it. too bad about the stain.
No wonder it's in such pristine condition, with only 386 plays, and I'm sure it's not on the second time around.

Very nice slot machine for sure !! not familiar with this specific one (Caille in general).
can't beat it, very neat in many ways.
Actually the stain can be removed from the "P.O. card", at least lightened a lot. But you have to talk to some one who restores documents, preferred a local museum.
as found is O.K. too.
thank you for showing it to us.

Wood Bleach which is oxalic acid. You take a small brush and mix a small amount in water in a dish. Dip brush and lightly wet the stained area. Brush back and forth and rinse when you see it lightening up. Let dry and continue until happy. It is a very powerful acid so do not over do it. Personally I like the stains on it but if you have to clean it this is the way. Rick B
