Looking for Little Duke Parts

Postby CJMiller » Fri May 26, 2017 11:27 pm

I'm looking for a back door for a Little Duke, and the small door on top of the gumball vendor. Original or reproduction will both work.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Let's go to Plan B, is there any chance someone could post a couple photos of that Little Duke vendor door (top and bottom) so I can see what an original looks like, and maybe show my machinist?

Thanks

I can gladly post pics of the gum vender door for you, but I am not sure what good it would do
for your machinist, as it is a cast aluminum door, not flat steel. Someone made reproduction
venders, many years ago, and not sure who it was. If they are still available, that would be the
best bet for a recast door. I will see if I can come up with any further info on the recasts. Or
maybe someone else on this Forum might have an idea.

Some pics with dimensions. This part can be easily made using a bar of aluminum and a milling machine. It's very straight-forward if you have a machine shop at your disposal.

Perfect. Thank you very much!

Obviously, I would much rather find a recast, but if that's not in the cards it does look like a reproduction is possible.

It just dawned on me, that Jack Brink, of Metal Form Products, made complete Jennings "Little Duke"
Gumball Venders at one time. You can try contacting him for the loading door casting. He is located
in Sylmar,CA at (818)764-2680 or (mfpcomp@msn.com). Good luck

No luck with Jack, he's out. Good Lord, he's 86 years old. I remember when he was a lad in his 60's.

My machinist said he would make me one, actually he said that if he was going to screw around with it he might as well make me 6, so if they turn out well in a couple weeks the market may be flooded with Little Duke vendor doors.

Now I'm down to the back door. Anyone have one they'll part with?

Thanks again for the help.

Sad to hear Jack's out, hope he is in good health for his 86 years.
Wish him a nice retirement surrounded by the horses on his property.

He could machine the parts, then put them in a tumbler with slightly abrasive media, and I'd be it'd look exactly like an original, because it's a flat, non descript door.

I have a couple of extra Little Duke top vendor doors getting recast right now if you're still interested.
