Just found this machine locally....mechanical slots rarely show up. The asking price is $1400.00 Cnd.(about $1000.00 US) any thoughts.
I see some extra parts like a jackpot, so I assume it has been removed. No back door in any pictures? Lock, keys etc.
I did call the owner and left a message.

Just talked to the owner and will look at it tomorrow. Front lock missing, rear door is included with lock drilled out. Jackpot was removed as he was planning on re-placeing the yellowed jackpot glass, but never did. All back together now. Says he has the original paper that goes in the mint vendor?
He says it all works???? He doesn't know if the jackpot fills though? He also says you can play with or without??? a coin!!! Has a small piece missing from the upper casting in the back 1/2"x1/2". Cant see it from the front.
Hopefully its an easy project and not a nightmare!!!

OK picked this machine up today. Found a few Canadian nickels in the slides....newest one 1959. So looks like this machine has been sitting for a while. Casting serial number 282017 (year???) matches the cabinet paper tag. Mech serial number paper tag is saturated in years of oil. Don't know if I will be able to clean it to verify the number. Any ideas? Also found two bugs, luckily they are a piece of brass with a screw.
Plans are to keep what I have as original as possible. Will need a very good cleaning,grease, oil, new spring kit, adjusting, jackpot glass(badly yellowed), mint window glass (plastic right now), both locks(rear lock drilled out and front lower casting lock missing)and paper front info? insert. My first project....let the fun begin.

Ok took it all apart and cleaned, oiled, greased and adjusted and re-asembled(actually a few times...new to this) back to working condition. Plays very smooth and pay's out correctly(well according to the slides). The reel strips(tin 83 N 1, 83 H? 1 and 83 G 1) will have to be re-placed and first reel disk to have every-thing match. Will need a few more parts like springs, locks, mint vender card, reel strips(reel bundle?), kicker, FOK side cabinet brass plate, mint wrappers...etc. But first the reel bundle.

beautiful pile of parts ! if you got the space & the time.... And as long as you're the one taking it all apart , most people can put it back together , with some minor issues along the way.....
but not so scary.
