Little Duke Coin Entry Housing

Postby Aussiepeddler » Thu Oct 19, 2017 2:41 am

Hi Guys
Enjoy this Forum immensely this is First time Posting. I’m trying to locate a Coin Entry housing for the top of my Jennings Little Duke.
Any help locating one would be greatly appreciated. I’m Downunder in Australia so not a lot of parts floating around down here..so happy to pay all shipping costs.
My Machine is I believe original and in good working order, reel strips are playing card themed which was common practice down here so would also like to know if they were available State Side with the same reel strips.
Cheers Pete

Hi, Can you post a picture of your little duke, are they the standard style of playing cards, in France they had little dukes with various symbals, (see attachment) but not playing cards, I know in Australia they have had cards on the Pokey machines since the late 1950's, but the Little Duke was from the early
1930's, unless someone updated the discs around the 1950's.

Pete:
By all means, please post pics of your "Little'Duke". Also, if you can, a pix of the front of the mechanism
out of the case, so we can see the entire disc bundle w/symbols. Would also like to know the serial number,
as I have been researching variation changes on these models for quite awhile. You are looking for a coin
head, and it will be nice to know which style, as there are more than one. If yours has a straight handle,
without knob, and especially no jackpot, it should take the small coin entry, which will also have to be for
the correct coin denomination size, if this is a French export model.

Hi
Hopefully the pics load ok, thanks for the reply.
Mine has bent handle and jackpot although not sure if Jackpot is functional.
all the Pokies down here were card themed.
I know some early machines came over with the troops in WW2 and were set up in various clubs In Camp.
this one was chock full of tokens.
just Love the history of theses Machines, if only they could talk.
Pete

Hi Pete:
Thanks for the great pics. Very interesting, with the card symbols. Your machine is the late
twin JP version, which had the large coin-head. Hope you are able to find one, but it is going
to be a tough-go, to locate one with a 1franc entry. You will not find a U.S. 25c version, (which
would work), but they were never produced. Why, I don't know, as they did 1c, 5c, 10c, and 50c.
But in reality, I guess you could say they did, when they did the franc export, which usually had
the small coin head. I have never seen a 1franc large coin head as yet. What size are the tokens
that are in your machine?
Your serial number of 20183, is my highest one on file at this time.
Cheers, Bill

Hi
Mills ,an other Strange version .Thank you for the photos !

Bill , Never seen a 25ç ,but 1Franc ,it s possible.
The first Little duke model was french , with no jackpot ,so certainly in Franc..And it s easy to make one in 1 franc or 25ç , just use the Duchess coin entry (only possible with the small coin entry) ,and all the parts for tube ,slide and other .
So ,I think that is possible to find (to make) one in Franc or 25ç.
little duke 1 franc.jpg

About the large coin entry , only seen it in 1Cents$ !
It s possible to find a recast but hard to find an original !

Oupps , and what do you think about this 50c/1P ??
Strange ,no ??

Hi thanks so much for the information. Bill the tokens are the size of US 1c and well spotted Stephane.
So I just need to find a 1c large housing....I'm guessing they are not easy to locate?
would much appreciate if anyone comes across one or repro.
