Keeney's Summertime Slot Machine

Postby jayram1408 » Mon Aug 20, 2018 9:22 pm

I was super lucky to get this off Craigslist for FREE. It works but is a little off sometimes? I think there might be some adjustments that I do not know how to do. Is there anyone familiar with this machine and does anyone know where I can get or buy a manual and schematic for this machine? Its all pretty much original and in great shape. Just needs the finishing touch. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks but there is not a lot similar between pinball machines and a electromechanical slot machine that does not have reals but lights (Panascope). I know this machine was made from 1951 to 1960 and I am wondering if maybe the patent office might have the info I am looking for, possibly some gaming entity in Las Vegas? Maybe a surviving relative of Keeney? Some one know of a collector or some one who restores the Panascope or Keeney's machines. A library that may have the schematic or manual? Another person here who has the same machine? A electrical engineer with experience working on older technology? A possible factory worker for Keeney's? I am desperate here.

I believe that particular machine was made in the late 30's maybe early 40's at the same time the Evan's Bang Tails was made as well as other "Flasher" gaming devices, called Flashers as they did not have spinning reels but used flashing lights to denote winners and they do have some similarities to the early pinball market as they use a lot of the same components, solenoids, steppers, cloth wrapped wire, Etc.

Thanks for the info, my issue is it does not always win when it is superposed to and also there are those different connectors that can be put in certain plugs but for what I am trying to figure out.

Here is a link for some hard to find manuals, there are a couple Keeney manuals and they may in some ways cross over to what you have as the basic principal of those early machines was kind of similar!
Possibly you can contact the web site owner as well!
Bona Fortuna!

The earlier post of the pinball resources gave me a good strategy for cleaning and repairing a few electromechanical machines . (1948 Mutoscope Fishing Well , as well as several 30-40’s era pinballs )The biggest of which was to clean every connection , switch , plug etc . The accumulation of grime on a machine of this era really seems to hinder and effect its overall performance and you may be amazed at just how dirty those contacts are .
Hopefully your machine is complete and you find the resources that help you to bring it back to life .

Regards
Sam

I am located in Denver Colorado. The issues I have are #1 The symbols dont match up to when it is susposed to win. So I am assuming there is something mechanical out of alignment? And #2 There are a few diffrent knobs, switchs and plugs that I have no clue as to what they are for exactly?
