Jennings stand

Postby 1949 » Fri Oct 05, 2018 6:33 pm

I finally went and picked up the slot machine and Jennings stand. It took some time because she lives a distance and she is traveling most of the time. I just would like to thank everyone for there input especially I would like to thank Old Slotman and Wallruss, It worked just how they described it. If it wasn't for them I may have had to use dynamite. I sent a picture of the stand as it`s in real good shape, just needs striped and painted.

Looks like a good one, mine came complete with all the rust anyone ever needed. I expect originally they were black but would like to know from other folks out there. i thought i would have mine powder coated in black as I plan to keep it.
Glad we could help.

Mine must have been black originally It`s black under the two different colors of house paint. The woman told me her dad would paint the stand and the wood on the slot machine to match the walls. Another interesting thing she told me was through her dads job, he was good friends of the cardinals ball club. She stated that a lot of them came to her house when she was young and would party and gamble on this slot machine. The likes of Ernie Banks and others from that era. A little side note; when I took the machine off the stand I noticed some dimes down at the bottom of the stand. So when I got it home I turned it upside down and started shaking, dines just keep coming out from inside the legs and every where. To my surprise I ended up with $10.80 in dimes, 15 of them where silver dimes 4 of them were mercury dimes. Also a silver walking liberty half dollar came rolling out. This leads me to believe that in it`s early years, since it is a Jennings stand that it probably had a 50 cent Jennings on it.

I have a very nice all original Watling stand with original locking bar, lock, and key.

Price is $200 plus shipping.

Wailing stands are pretty hard to come by. Especially with locking bar and original lock & key.

When I bought it, the stand was holding a Rol-A-Top.

If interested, let me know.

Stand is in the Denver metro area.
