High Top

Reaching out for insight. I friend just gave me this High Top that was in a work shop for years and of course was a mess. I have no clue what this reel bundle is. I think from the markings on the strips it maybe from a Jennings?. It's rough but I'm going to clean it up and get it working. Just would like to know about the reel bundle. Thanks

What you have is a Jewel Bell Hi-Top. Everything looks good except for the reel bundle. Either the reel bundle was changed or just the strips. The strips are from Autobell mfg co. from back in the 50's and was owned by Zeke Wolfe. The machine was called a Wild Indian which is why the Indian symbols on the strips. Many Autobell machines are miss represented as standard Mills. Should Monti see this posting he should be able to give more info on the Autobells.

It is my understanding that Auto Bell revamped slot machines from 1951 to 1962, most of them Mills High Tops like the one shown, one of which I believe was called the Arrow Head and another model called the Thunder Chief which had the reel bundle you show!
Dick Bueschels book #14 of THE COIN SLOT series covered the Auto Bells!
Hope this helps!

Hi Monti, Thanks for the reply, you and Jim both helpful as always. When I first got the machine for FREE I said another cart away someones crap, but afterwards I thought it will be a great restore project. It needs rear door, cash box, there is no jackpot, but thats OK I'll make it right. Thanks again!
