Caille "Ben Hur" Age

Hello Everyone

I recently inherited a Caille "Ben Hur" machine. It's in full operational order and the mechanism is quite clean.

My question concerns establishing the age of the machine. The serial number on the base board (inside bottom) reads 3442.

Beyond that all I can find are CB Co./CS stamps on most of the main mechanical elements.

How can the age be established?

Very nice looking machine. This site has a coin op registry for serial number records. Closest Caille serial numbers to your reported 3442 with dates are 1914 and 1915. Dick Bueschel in his Illustrated Guide to 100 - - Vol 1 comments that the Ben Hur was introduced in 1908 and continued production to 1928. Check the registry for more info.
