Pace Comet skill stops

Postby capt7310 » Tue Mar 05, 2019 7:15 pm

Just picked up a pace comet with the skill stops, the push downs are still there with the springs and they work fine. I'm trying to figure out what's missing and how they work. If someone has a photo that would help. Thanks

capt!
I hope this parts blow up helps sorry for the poor image but it is from an original Pace parts manual in black and white and poor quality to begin with!
These parts will probably be very hard to find as most route operators of the day would remove them and throw them away and reproducing them would be a real challenge as well!
In my 35 Plus years of doing this I don't believe any one ever reproduced these parts but I may be wrong!
Someone out there may know!
Bona Fortuna!

Here are some pics from my mills pace comet .
Machine is for sale . Its a bit of a project . Needs some minor adjustments on the jackpot . Also needs a weld on the top casting . Needs back lip and cash box . Original tin strips . Skill stops work . Vender works . Mech pays and plays as it
should .

As always thanks to all. And as Monti posted don't think I'll find those parts and I think if I did might be out of my wheelhouse trying to put it together..However, Sam I'll call you later your machine is the exact one I just bought and maybe I can make one perfect machine from the 2.....Thanks again

Capt!
If I was you I would consider following thru with Sam a bit as even though the castings are different in design with the reel skill stops being located on the upper casting above the reel windows the mech and/or parts may be interchangeable!
The coin heads are different so a direct mech swap would not work but the skill stops may be interchangeable?
Probably should see better pictures of both mechs from the same camera angles for comparison!
If your not worried about complete originality it could be do-able?? Maybe??
Any other comments out there?
Just a thought!

Hi
It s me again.
(Hi Monti, I m always alive even we have a lot of yellow jacket near the home. :D )
For info , the slot from Sam is a Mills FOK, with a Pace comet front casting. It s not original but a modification for add a jackpot on a FOK
Look here:
https://retro-jackpot.fr/mills/fok/f-o- ... C3%A9es-20

Impossible to swap any parts of the Mills FOK/Comet with an Original Pace comet !!
Sam , if you can add photo feom the front mecanism , I would like to know how work the jackpot and link in the FoK/Comet.
For info again , there are a lot of Pace comet in France.
Capt , if you wait about a reply about your missing parts , why don t post a photo of the mech.? :?:
