My name is Dave Claxton and I did slot machine work for Lou Adler from the time he started Slots of Montana and did so for about 25 years. I am retired and spend time in Montana in the spring and summer and winters in Sun City Arizona. I always called myself Montana Slots and Lou was Slots of Montana. I am often mistaken as Lou when people here that I am from Montana and do slot machines. I have spent over 30 years doing slot machines and in the beginning taught myself to work on them with the help of the slot books on Mills and Jennings machines. I have seen and worked on hundreds of machines that were flat out original untouched and I know what is right and what is not. I got back into the forum after a long absence in order to start sharing my knowledge . I can look at machines on eBay and tell you there are some real bad ones for sale. I can also tell you that there are some real great machines at bargain prices. I kind of look at repair questions, parts, new slot machine finds because this is fun for me. I still on occasion help Lou with a machine or two just for fun and have helped him pack a machine on more than one occasion. If you see a post from a slot machine guy out of Montana it is probably me. One of my very best friends does slot machine repair and restoration out of Deer Lodge Montana for Lou. His name is Wes Harr and he is another straight shooter. I love original machines because they work like a finely made watch and are a joy to play . I am so impressed with the many professionals who are willing to help someone on this site just for the joy of the hobby and not for the almighty dollar.
