As an ongoing attempt to keep these FAKE models out of our collectors hands, here we go again with yet
three more of the Vegas Butchers FAKES. The first is not on eBay at this time, but was awhile back, and is
a legitimate "Penny Smoke", repainted incorrectly, but it's the Phoney reel strips and award card that are
Bogus. He had these cigar-band strips, and card, made from scratch, to make this Fake. There were Never
any strips & card like this in Any factory model. This is all a greedy ploy, to squeeze more bucks out of the
unknowledgeable buyer.
- AS PHONEY AS CAN BE.
Now we have his favorite Fake, that he has been making up for at least 20 years. He uses a standard Groetchen
"Ball Gum", and grinds the Ball Gum lettering out of the top casting, so that he can put the recast Tavern plate.
The unsightly & sloppy job on this one, is even worse than most, because he left the 'curlyQs' on the two sides,
therefore grinding the Tavern nameplate down to the edge of the letters, to squeeze between. Then, one of the
sloppiest incorrect paint-jobs to be seen, on top of all this butchering. Then the repro strips & card round it off.
- Another Bastardized Job.
This one really 'Takes the Cake'. We have an original "Cent-A-Smoke" on the coin divider base, but that recast
jackpot, is the style for Pace machines ONLY. Besides, this Daval model NEVER came with any jackpot, Period.
Again, with an incorrect paint-job, and those lovely, PHONEY cigar-band reel strips, like in the Groetchen model
above. Only this time, we have a different made-from-scratch card, above the jackpot.
- Even more PHONEY than Mr. Cigar Band above.
PLEASE, PLEASE, SPREAD THE WORD AROUND, ABOUT ALL THESE FAKES, SO THAT NONE OF OUR UNSUSPECTING
NEW COLLECTORS DON'T GET BURNED, LIKE SO MANY ALREADY HAVE.
