So here is a machine I just picked up. It is a Watling "45" upright.
It has been in the same family since 1903 so I am the second owner. They provided me with information about what locations it was in. I am going to research them and maybe I will find a photo with the machine on location. How cool would that be!
The machine is 100% original, not restored.
Some deals take months / years to happen others occur very quickly. This one happened very quickly. I talked to the owner the first time on a Saturday, deal was made on a Sunday, drove 1,100 miles and by Monday night the machine was in the car.
The owners got a good price for the machine. They had done some research.
I may write an article for COCA for their "Tales of the Hunt" section.
It is nice to know that there are still some unfound gems out there.
