Old Pace slot 5 cents
Posted: Thu Jul 20, 2023 11:33 amI have had an old Pace slot machine since 1989. My father and seven of his friends started a private social club in San Francisco in the 1930's. Some time in the early 50's they acquired this machine and it was placed in the clubhouse bar for the members to play. I remember it being there since I was a boy. When the members started passing away a drawing was held for the children of the deceased members, the slot machine and a Wurlitzer juke box from the 60's were drawn for by numbers out of a hat. I was the lucky winner of both the slot machine and the jukebox. In 1989 I drove to San Francisco and picked both items up and brought them to my home where they sat un-used. I am in my mid 70's now and I'm starting to lighten my load should I have to move. The slot machine is in original condition but is not working. I do not have a key to the machine so I am unable to fix it. An internal part that fell off sits inside on the bottom of the machine, if a key could be found for the machine, it could be fixed. I am selling the Machine, it is located in Montana 70 miles north of Yellowstone park. The frame for the machine is made of oak hardwood, on the reels it says Bell Fruit Gum. It has not been repainted. all color is original. I was told in 1989 when I got it that it was worth $1600. I am not sure if that is a realistic price to ask, would like some honest input.
