Mills 10 cent slot machine restoration

Postby rdub » Mon Mar 30, 2020 1:45 pm

I have an old family slot machine that doesn't work. It is a Mills slot machine, made out of wood and it takes dimes. That's the extent of my knowledge. I live in San Antonio Texas. Does anyone know where I could get some help? Thanks, Rob

It is a Mills Castle Front. An earlier one because of the paper award card. Do you have the key
What doesn't work on it? If you take off tne back and gently try moving parts you can sometimes fix a jam.
Pulling the mechanism is not difficult. I think there may be videos on YouTube about clearing a jam.
Classic machine and looks to be in nice shape.

If this is original it should have a wire on the bottom left rear of the mech between 5 springs with a 90* bend on it. Push the wire in toward the springs and pull the handle slowly, if it kicks the reels it may be ok. If not there could be some other jam.

Thank you for the help! I don't have a key, so I can't open the back. Simple locksmith job?

Very hard lock to pick.
Do not drill the lock. They are not cheap to replace. Others on this site know ways to the back.
Hopefully they will chime in.
