Very nice - looks great. You did a good job on first application wrinkle black. Good strong wrinkle finish. Not easy to accomplish to get the strong wrinkle. Did you spray and heat the casting to set the paint? Or just apply heavy? Good work, Flip.

Very nice!
Always good to see a faithful restoration;
too many slapjack "restorations" with little regard to how the machine was originally manufactured.

No heat applied to casting. I just tried to get a nice even wrinkle coverage in x2 sweeps. The addition of the primer and finish coats does tend to lessen the wrinkle effect but overall i am satisfied with result to get close to the original wrinkle radio green.

It actually looks pretty darn nice in your photos! Like the way you shot it assembled. May I ask what green you used? Did you use spray cans of the e VHT black?
Thanks
Looks terrific!

Thanks for your very kind comments. Yes I used a VHT spray can for the wrinkle finish; then applied the primer and finish coat with my touch up spray gun (the gun at left of pic). I used a non molested part of the original green from within the casting to arrange for a local smash repairer to match from his pantone colour chart. It took a while to find a reasonable match that we both agreed upon.
