Bally 804H and 809B

I have these two machines that I am cleaning up and getting running again. I have them both accepting coins, registering them, and spinning wheels.

But neither of them are paying out anything. The hopper does not activate or anything. Is all this controlled from the reel mechanism?

How can I bench test the hopper? Which leads will do what?

Yes, I would clean and gap the switches on the mechanism with contact cleaner, because that is probably where the problem lies. As far as bench testing the hopper, or the mechanism, you'd have to build a set of modular 'Beau' plugs to plug into your hopper, so that you can test it outside the cabinet (which is not that easy to do). But I'd work on the mechanism switches first. There's some manuals out there that explain how to work on /repair the Bally EM slots.
