Bally Bill - I've seen a few counters on Mills machines from my customers over the years. Here's two photos from a Mills Chrome Bell I restored for a customer; note that this is before I restored it, so it looks rough at this point.

Awesome thanks it's beautiful. I know that its pre restoration, however those machines are built like a tank, and perform with precision.

Hi mazzeosa17, I "am blow away looking at this counter setup on that machine, not only do you need the counter but the rod and brackets to make it work with a brass turnbuckle for the rod adjustment is very ingenious. Thank you for sharing that photo and would like to see your final restoration results on the Mills Chrome Bell.

Bally Bill, I usually take post-restoration photos of my repair jobs, as I write articles for COCA Times, and include those photos in the stories. But it appears I didn't take post-restoration photos this time - sorry. But I did include a couple more photos of the counter unit for you in my response.

Hi Sal, I 'am sure the restoration looked great, I appreciate the extra photos and should help if I ever find the counter and all the assembly parts it needs to work correctly- Thank you for sharing!

I installed the counter, it's working great. I needed to take the counter apart and service the counter to work properly.

I don't think that I am missing anything else, the only thing left is the cabinet and it's minor.

I worked on getting it correct. I found this Mills "factory" photo.

I then used a Mills plate for the counter, Mills counter, however I didn't see how it was connected. I was able to "professionally" connect it using a stainless steel rod for strength, and it's quite remarkable.

Straight rod back to the arm behind it, an excellent place since you can adjust the rod using the counter arm. None of the goofy attachments, just a clean install. :D

Last Mills lock. This is for the cabinet door, I building a cabinet under the machine to hold all of the books.

These locks can take hours to rekey properly, thankfully I am doing it to myself, otherwise it wouldn't be worth it. :)
