I have a Watling Checkerboard that I would like some information regarding it's originality.
It has serial number stamped on the RH front wood curve part of the case 96070, also on the tag inside.
The castings are plated, I assume this is not correct.
I question the castings being original or reproduction.
The mech seems to be an earlier version, and not original to the case.
The machine pulls hard, and when the mech releases to cycle, it "bangs" and then seems to cycle correctly.
When playing the machine, it gives you the feeling that you are going to break something.
I have had the mech out several times to try to adjust the "operating fork lift pin" to help the issue, but it doesn't improve.
The operating fork tension adjustment spring is not present.
I have attached some photos, and would appreciate any information the experts could provide.

I have a 1936 Coin Front to ask about after I solve this puzzle.
Thanks!
