Mills Extraordinary payout problem

Postby mbarthelow » Wed Jan 12, 2022 8:00 am

My Mills 5 cent Extraordinary works pretty well, but it has one intermittent problem and I wonder if anyone can recognize it and advise on how to fix:

For a 3 orange, 10 coin payout, the machine will often only vend 5 coins. Sometimes on the next pull, it will drop the remaining 5 coins, sometimes not.

Thoughts?

Thanks!

Sounds like a minor spring issue on your 2nd payout finger spring. Install a new spring or shorten. Existing one just a tad.

Assuming the slides are clean and have no oil/grease/dirt on them, you should take a loop or two off the payout slide spring that controls the additional 5 coin payout. That will tighten the spring and should take care of it. If not, let us know. You may then have to do the same with the upper payout finger spring (take a loop or two off) to get it to work properly.
