The fact that the mechanism serial number is different to paper tag and wood cabinet number
simply means, that at somepoint in its life, the matching serial number mechanism has been
swapped out [replaced] with a different mechanism, to the one that was installed @ the factory.
This is common, as operators would simply insert a spare working mechanism, rather than fix
original one. This means machine would be back on casino floor at earliest opportunity to make
more money.
Some Collectors like all numbers to match up, so it's as close as possible, as it left factory gate.
Behind the glass is the jackpot unit. The coins will fill up this area and then when a jp is hit, the
flap at the bottom of jp falls backwards and the player see the coins empty from behind the glass
into the payout tray below.
You still haven't answered whether there are Fitzgerald symbols on the centre and right reel as well
as the one we have seen on left reel already?
As the wood has been replaced in that area, some would say its been in a casino, however, wood may
have been replaced for a.n.other reason so not 100% definitive answer. The presence of Fitzgeralds on
all the reelstrips/reelbands, in addition to wood replacement, would maybe load odds more favourably
to being a casino machine at somepoint in its history.
Post pix of the centre and right reels or just confirm yes or no.
