Hello.
I have a small antique shop in Edenton North Carolina. I picked up a penny cigarette trade stimulator at auction (and I was pretty pleased at the price).
This particular machine is missing a manufacturer sticker on the back. I am attaching a close-up of what remains. I can find no other markings except on one metal piece in the back (I think just a part number). I have only spent about 3 hours looking online, but if I had to guess, I would think this is by Garden City Manufacturing Co; the 4 brands of cigarettes on my machine match the four on all of the other Garden City (Camel, Chesterfield, Old Gold & Lucky Strike). As well, there are lots of similarities to a GC Pair-It (the little metal doohickey that holds the wheels on the center spindle looks just like the little metal doohickey in GC Pair-Its, the shape and style of wooden machine, the gumball vending hole, the wooden knob on the side, etc).
Any help that you can give me would be greatly appreciated. I am looking to sell it, whether on eBay or through a private deal; I can’t bear to sell anything without learning more about it! Thanks! Maria
