Mills or Sega?

Postby wildman » Fri Mar 11, 2022 11:32 am

Attached are some pictures of my slot machine.
I have been told, it really is a Sega.
It takes dimes, and also penny's.
It is really obvious that the pay-out card is not the original.

The jackpot looks almost full; not sure if it does not payout, will the slot jamb?

I am just a very early beginner, so do not know a lot about slot operation/

Thanks

Looks like a Sega. The giveaways are the reel glass, & the top casting is squarer around the escalator window. Also, the trim around the payout tray should be different to a Mills.
Check the part numbers on the mech, if they start with SG, it's a Sega mech.

Thanks.
I do not see SG from looking from the back. I haven't pulled it out of the case yet. I see some numbers, but not SG.

Do you know what would happen if the payout gets full, and does'nt empty?

When the jackpot gets full, the coins should overflow into the cashbook.

Okay, thanks

I wonder where I can get a better looking pay-out card? The one on it now is some type of "foil" looking; probably a stick on, and wrinkled.
It is probably the right one for the reals that are in it; but if it is a Sega, it probably should be a 777 card. I really don't want to change the reel emblems

Mad Money.jpg
If it plays really smooth chances are it is a SEGA. I picked up a SEGA Bell long ago, the glass is identical to your hightop. My daughter has it and loves it. I just picked up a SEGA Mad Money, takes nickels, although it's an English 1Pence. It has a token dispenser for 3 Star Jackpot. Again, super smooth operation.

Mine takes a little effort to pull the handle. I don't know if there is a way to make it smoother. Looks like a different spring on the handle, might help. The one that is there looks to heavy; am attaching a picture
