Mills 50c Hightop

Does this look off to you guys I never had a 50c High top before and it looks like on of the teeth has maybe been cut off? The window only shoes 2 coins before the third drops. It looks like even if it had more teeth it would still drop the coin. Was this maybe a conversion?

Casinos and operators did this to help eliminate coins jamming in the escalator reducing service calls.thanks

I think they called them rollaway escalators. I've seen them on quarter machine also.

Ok so I cleaned and rebuilt Escalator works perfect. But the first wheel stops very fast it looks like 3 of the payout fingers are rubbing against the payout disc. Is there a way to adjust to move the payout fingers a little further back during the cycle. But the first reel stop comes down a fraction of a second after pulling the handle. Any Help would be greatly appreciated. :-D

Sounds like you have two different problems, if the fingers are rubbing against the disc could be that there is to much spring tension pulling the fingers, I had this issue before and softer springs fix it, also ck for worn parts if there is to much play in the vertical pay out push back lever assembly pivot points then it may not be pushing the vertical fingers back far enough.
Now if the reel stop lever for the first reel engages the star wheel to soon it could be a timing bar issue, wrong stop lever, broken or worn parts, with the mech out activate the mech and stop the clock right away before it starts to spin, slowly let the clock unwind and watch the timing bar as it starts to move back, watch as the reel stop lever comes off the timing bar and engages in to the star wheel, if it comes off to early you will need to find out if the timing bar or stop lever is the cause, possible that the first reel and second reel stop lever were reversed at one time.
Also ck the brake wire adjustment, if it is too tight the reel wont spin spin properly.

I think your right on about the finger springs. They are very hard springs the wheel stop spring is also shot. Where is the place to purchase these?

Here is the problem. The clock bar is not set far back enough so when you pull the handle the first reel hammer is coming down almost instantly I'm not sure how to fix this? I enclosed a YouTube video Showing whats going on. As for the grinding on the payout disc that was fixed with a few new softer springs. Thanks altort. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Xj74v5x ... e=youtu.be

Sometimes this issue can be fixed by sliding the dog out just a little bit further. It will make the mech wind up just a little further before it slips off and the wheels fire. This has worked for me. If you need pics to show you where this is let me know. It is located at the rear of the mech on the busy side of the machine. It is the square metal rod about 1 1/2 inches long and held in place by a solid bolt.
