It's been quite a while (years) since I've posted on this forum, but I came across this in a movie we watched last night on TCM. We've been getting into watching the old ones, and stuff on TCM is commercial-free. A number of them are silent... the oldest we've watched was from 1914.
Anyway, this machine was in "Beyond the Rockies", a 1932 cowboy movie that only ran about an hour long. I don't know what the machine is.. it says "The Square" on the front below the roulette type spinning wheel.

Dave

EDIT: I found the machine online. It's a Mills 1910 "On The Square"....

This??
We TiVo and later watch many of the old movies on TCM. We had recorded this one last July, and watched it sometime in the Fall. I saw your post and remembered the movie title. It was still in the "Deleted Items" folder on one of our TiVo's. There were a number of scenes at "Jack's All Nite Coffee Pot", but in a quick skim through the movie I think the minutes you saw was the only time this machine appears.

Yes; your first photo captures a good view of it, but I don't recognize what model it is.

I went through that segment frame by frame and captured what appeared to be the clearest image. I also looked at earlier scenes that took place in that coffee shop, but I didn't see that machine in any of them.

Taking a close look at the picture I strongly believe that it is the DAVAL REEL DICE, similar the CLEARING HOUSE, TIT TAT TOE and RACES but the lack of the gum ball view glass and the position of the reel window can only be REEL DICE

Cool. The position of the REEL DICE wording in your pic looks like it falls in the same place as the illegible wording in the pic I posted. I still have the movie downloaded to my computer, so tomorrow I'll review that segment again to see if I can confirm any individual letters in the wording on the machine. :D

Unlike many of you, I'm certainly no expert with these old machines. I only have the one Jennings that I bought in 2011 because my wife was enjoying losing her money in the area casinos, and I felt that having an old working machine at home would be nice. Anyway, I can comfortably say that Mr. Nvmos and Mr. Altort are correct. In these images I can clearly (well sorta clearly) see the "EEL" in the REEL lettering on the casting when I zoom in. =D>

I thought that it might be a Reel Dice, but Reel Dice has a back/ back door that is rounded at the top.
The machine in the movie appears to have a back that drops straight down (with a flat back door?); perhaps the photos just make it look that way.

I think it's an illusion. As she walks in the camera pans ever so slightly. There is a tall object on the counter to the left of the Daval machine that obscures the view of the machine as she moves by. The tall (unidentified) object makes it appear that the rear of the REEL DICE is flat. The video never shows a full side image of the machine because the front corner of that other object blocks the view. I tried to upload the short video clip, but the forum doesn't allow mp4's.

Edit: I uploaded the video segment to my Google Drive (for now).... https://drive.google.com/file/d/14bXi--DqeFsCKbSMnrgZxJM-Xu3PsUwu/view?usp=sharing

The Crime Patrol (1936)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ICfMA5qllF4

At about 3- 1/2 minutes in, the pool room scene appears to feature a Mills Dewey (?) upright and a Watling Blue Seal (?) three-reeler...
