Need to see Side of Rol A Tor case

Postby Rick B » Sun Feb 09, 2020 10:27 am

I am having a discussion with someone about the original cases used on Rol A Tors. All I have seen are like mine but My friend thinks it is a later case and should be the straight up and down to be correct. Any pics or help would be great. Thanks,,Rick B

Hello Rick B!
I believe this one pictured here below the text is pretty accurate
but watlingboy on the Forum
or Cherry Restorations Larry at link below should be your go to guys on Watlings in my opinion!
They both know their stuff on all things Watling!

The picture that Monti posted is on the small side...
but it looks like the machine in that pic has one more rivet through the wooden part than the machine in the first post?

Well
First , You need to check the serial number (not the Pat. number but the serial stamp at left!) on the Top casting and be sure that is the same on the wood (near the cashbox).

The first original Rol A ToR have this case , no other way.

But on the last model , like the bird of Paradise Rol A toR , you have this model. But it s not realy a toR !!! it s a standard rol a top With just the toR casting and sold from Watling like this !! Not a Frankenstein !!! That was the last toR model. And seen this only on the bird version !!!

And remember , the first Tor model have a special mechanism (White denomination badge, different escalator and some other parts) !! Different of the ToP !
TOR (9 coins in the escalator for the 1/10/5ç and 8 for the 25ç) :

ToP (only 8 coin in the escalator for all coins):
