In my opinion,This is a fraud from the word "go". This scam surfaced in New Orleans some time ago. I represent a client who is a premiere restorer who confronted someone with a "bank" of Jennings machines for some ungodly price. If anyone reads this, please don't be fooled by the allegations in these ads. It's really too bad that these advertisements are allowed to continue.

The ad also states

The set of 5 One Arm Bandits have been together as a set since inception. They were used professionally at a world famous casino in New Orleans back in the early1950's.

So, I was thinking, what world famous casino existed in the 1950's in New Orleans. When I asked for the name of this "world famous" casino the seller stated it was a joint called "The Club Forest". It doesn't even have a wikipedia page like virtually every other "World Famous" place out there has.

So like, world famous??? I have never heard of that place. I asked for photos or other proof and of course none was provided.

I did a little googling and found a picture of this "world famous" club. It looks like a glorified Denny's to me. In addition, my googling found that the Mills brothers purchased it in 1944. So, do you really think Mills would have put in Jennings machines into their place?

Anyway, the saga gets even more interesting and I will share it a little later.

Here is an update.

The person actually called the cops of the town that I live in to complain about my emails.

Like, WTF???? An officer called me and we had a couple of conversations. The last one was a pretty long conversation last night.

I asked the cop if this is something normal and he replied with you wouldn't believe the odd calls we get. I informed the officer that the seller had reached out to me and I was trying to get more information. Things like asking to see the appraisal that the owner supposedly has but the owner was not willing to provide it to me and that the seller was asking close to $300,000. He just laughed and said seems like a reasonable request. I told the officer that if a police report was filed I wanted a complete investigation and I assume filing a false police report was a serious thing and he said, yes, filing a false police report in pretty serious.

The seller also told the cop the machines were sold (this was weeks ago). I informed the officer that as of last night the sellers ads are still up and they do not indicate the machines have been sold. In fact the seller has added additional information to the facebook post just a few days ago. https://www.facebook.com/Indian-Chief-One-Arm-Bandits-909376722484025/?ref=page_internal

I believe the “Mills Brothers “ mentioned are the singing group, not anyone associated with Mills Novelty Company.

According to wikipedia, the first names of the Mills Brothers singing group was Herbert, Harry, John and Donald.

According to the web site which talks about the Club Forest, the name of the Mills brothers who bought the joint were Henry, Frank, and Arthur.

So, I don't think it was the singing group that bought the place unless it was a different Mills Brothers singing group.

The fact is, I never talked to the person on the phone. She contacted me via email. I didn't even know it was a woman until the cop told me. When I insisted that I see the actual appraisal and so-called affidavit which proves the providence that was being claimed. She started getting snippy and said things like I forgot more that you'll ever know about slot machines.
