Posted: Mon Jan 04, 2016 12:04 pm I recently acquired this Pace slot machine #26. It is in nice condition and operates fine. Am wondering about its age. It has a rotary escalator and a Pace Company decal on the left side panel, as you face the machine. Can anyone date it for me?

Some of the better known versions, are the "Chrome Bell", "6 Star Bell", "8 Star Bell", and "Super jackpot",
(which had a 4th reel). Many times these models are referred to as 'Pace-Ace', because the Ace Mfg. Co.
was working very closely with Pace, in Chicago. Ace later moved their facility to Glen Burnie, Maryland,
and was producing a whole new line of front-opener machines. They later moved back to Chicago in the
mid 1960's. Your "8 Star Bell", is the last model that Pace built in Chicago, in the late 1950 to 51 period.
I never kept up with the serial number run on these models, so not sure just how many they produced.
