Is the War Eagle serial numbers in the narrow black strip next to the award card or are they at the bottom inside the back of the mechanism? The numbers are different.

Sorry I haven't responded sooner. Enclosed is the image of the numbers inside my War Eagle. I am beginning to think maybe it is just a Mills part number. Your thoughts.

Me again. As you can see by the earlier post I wasn't allowed to send image. Administrator error for some reason.

I tried to send image and for some insane reason it states that I don't have permission to send the image. Anyway, these are the numbers inside at the bottom of the base: MLB 2514. Interesting enough the round bar close to the spinning blade is MLB 2516. This makes me think they are just part numbers. I do have the numbers on the thin black strip by the award card.

Mills serial # are a 6 digit number.

Yes, that is the six numbers I have in the black strip and always assumed they were the true serial number of the slot. The other inside numbers I just questioned for importance or something to do with the year of the Was Eagle. Mine has been checked out and is from 1931 when they were first made. It is all original including cash box and back door. And yes, it has the two jackpot windows--the upper one for the reserve jackpot and correct handle. Don Creekmore of Nathan's Attic fully restored the cabinet and new reel strips and award card in 2001. Trust me, he wouldn't go to the trouble of restoring a slot machine that wasn't original. Here is the interesting thing about this machine. It pays out one coin shy. It bothered me and through research, a very knowledgeable slot dealer and restorer, Richard Bright saw the serial number I sent plus, the award card payouts and he explained clearly why this was happening and also cleared up as to why no coin amount shown on the case because of the early release of this machine. I can send his quotes because I have saved them. There was one pompous ass that has a YouTube channel stating I had a jack legged machine of various assembled parts. So much for know-it-alls.
