I’m doing some genealogical work and researching a Pace 8 Star Bell slot machine that’s been in my Chicago-area family for 75 years. (Pics attached — it looks and works great and has been entertaining my family and friends for decades.) My grandma (who passed away some years ago) told us that she received this as a Mother’s Day present in either 1948 or 1949. But some light internet research (and a little help from the robots) says that though the front of the case says “Pace,” the Ace logo on the manufacturer’s badge means this machine was actually built by the Ace company that succeeded Pace — placing its construction more in the mid-‘50s.
Wondering if anyone can help me determine the age and history of this machine, as well as any other fun details that might come to mind? Not looking to sell or anything; just digging into a fun piece of family history. Thanks for any help.
