It is interesting that when you are selling, your prices are right up there. When you inquired about a 5c Treasury with gold award that I was asking $4000.00 for, you said it was way overpriced and that I paid to much for it.

I honestly don't recall talking to you on the phone or via email about your Treasury. I usually get 5 to 10 machines offered to me every week and there is no way I can remember every conversation or every email. In general when the asking price is more than I want to pay I simply say "Sorry, that is more than I am willing to pay".

Telling people that they paid way too much for it is not how I roll. Frankly, I don't really care what they paid because that is totally irrelevant. Just like when I buy a stock on the stock market, what the person paid for it doesn't matter.

The exception to this would be if they just purchased the machine (typically at auction) and are trying to flip it and make a profit or if they bought one of the reproduction machines. I do get many emails from people who bought a fake Golden Nugget in Vegas years ago and paid over $3,000 for it.

The red machine has been repainted. I think the only original color is the orange color. I have seen several futurities painted different colors. I suppose some people do not like the original color and decide to paint it a different color.

Since red is not the original color the red machine's price was discounted.

Frankly, I think the red is more attractive than the orange but it is not how they came out of the factory.

2/4 refers to payout on two cherries. This payout was used until the early 1930's when they switched to 3/5 payout. I believe the 3/5 started with the Castle front, and later on the War Eagles. 2/4 is as follows: 2 coins for two cherries and 4 coins for two cherries plus a bell or lemon on the third reel. 3/5 is as follows; 3 coins for two cherries and 5 coins for two cherries plus a bell or lemon on the third reel. Later on, I believe after WWII or shortly before the war, they switched to a 2/5 payout which was 2 coins for one cherry and 5 coins for two cherries. Hope this helps. Someone can correct if I'm wrong but I think the 2/4 payout was just on 10 stop machines, which means the reels only stopped on every other symbol.
